Make a colonial wallet out of leather.

There a many stitches used to sew things together. The running stitch just goes in and out, back and forth. The whip stitch goes through and around, through and around. There are many others.

Leather is usually the skin of a cow. Tanning the leather preserves it and makes it soft. Most leather is tanned by soaking it with some chemical.

Just like now, colonial men carried a wallet to store their money and important papers. The wallet stayed closed using a strap.
